Former Main Event finalist makes sitcom about his life

Not for the first time a poker player is showing off their talents in other areas, this time with a great looking comedy show about poker and acting.

Where people go next after poker is just as interesting as where they came from. In 2006 Douglas Kim, known as 'technologic' online, came 7th in the Main Event the year Jamie Gold won it, pocketing $2,391,520.

While he still played poker his real dream appears to be acting and he is now starring in his own sitcom about his life which he has written himself. 'Just Doug' looks like a Curb Your Enthusiasm style comedy which borrows from real life. Indeed, the show starts with Kim, playing himself, deciding after his Main Event win to move to LA to become an actor.

S1:E1 The Struggle is Real

Fresh off becoming a poker millionaire, Doug Kim leaves his life behind to pursue an acting career in Hollywood. What could go wrong?

Kim is looking to get the show picked up by a major TV station, and if it does, he told regulars on the 2+2 forum that he will be hoping to explore the subject of poker in more depth.

You can find out more about the show over on the 'Just Doug' Facebook Page.

This is not the first major comedy milestone for a high stakes player this year, back in August British comedian and former Triple Draw professional Ken Cheng won the 'joke of the year award' at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival.

Not sure about this. Watched the first episode, and it was kinda boring with some good scenes.
