GGPoker partners with Grosvenor Poker
The market leader in global online poker partners with the market leader in UK live poker.
An interesting development for UK poker now, as GGPoker have partnered with Grosvenor Casinos, the biggest live poker operator in the United Kingdom
GGPoker will sponsor a multitude of Grosvenor events, including the GUKPT, the UK Poker Open, G200 and G300 events, and the Behemoth.
Perhaps most notably, they will be the sponsor of The Goliath, which routinely breaks the record for the largest poker event held outside of Las Vegas.
In addition to hosting satellites, there will be exclusive promotions for GG qualifiers. If a GGPoker qualifier wins one of their marquee events, they will receive a cash boost between 10% and 20% on top of their first prize. GGPoker qualifiers will also participate in last longer promotions.
Two market leaders
This news has definitely come as a surprise in the UK poker community, although signs were there earlier this month. When this year's iteration of The Goliath was announced recently, PokerStars were not announced as a satellite partner, as they had been last year.
The Grosvenor Poker iPoker skin will continue to operate and offer satellites to these events as normal.
This is a huge partnership in UK poker terms. Grosvenor Poker was already the market leader in UK live poker, with a casino in pretty much every major UK town and city. Now, with the backing of the online poker market leader, their numbers will surely accelerate even more.
