Jason Koon inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame
The high-stakes crusher is the lone inductee in 2026 after not every single Hall of Fame member cast their vote.
One of the all-time greats from the High Roller scene has been immortalised in the Poker Hall of Fame.
Jason Koon was one of eight nominees this year and the only person in 2026 to be inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame.
Koon has been one of the winningest players in poker for more than a decade, particularly on the High Roller circuit. He boasts twelve Triton titles, six PokerGo Tour titles, and two World Series of Poker bracelets.
He also currently has over $77 million in all-time money earnings, putting him third just behind Steven Chidwick and Bryn Kenney.
Not everyone cast their votes
Koon is thoroughly deserving of this title and was one of this writer's predictions to be inducted this year.
The poker world, however, is stunned that Koon was the only inductee this year after the criteria changed, allowing up to six players to be inducted in a year.
To be eligible, nominees need 22 votes from the 33 living members of the Poker Hall of Fame, who each have four votes. Amazingly, just 100 total votes were cast, and Koon finished with just 23. Scott Seiver got 19 votes, Isai Sheinberg got 17 votes and Shaun Deeb got 15 votes.
What this means is around 25% of the living Poker Hall of Fame members didn't vote this year, or chose not to use all their available votes. Something most people had not anticipated happening.
