LarsLuzak wins PowerFest High Roller Championship

The PowerFest ends with several big names taking down titles in the final week and 888poker ends their series with a big overlay.

PowerFest concluded last night a full week after the World Championship of Online Poker.

Other than the length the most notable difference between the two series is there is no definitive Main Event in PowerFest, instead there are a number of 'Championship' events. The biggest one of the final day being the $5,200 Super High Roller Championship.

It was a very familiar name at the top of that one, online high stakes beast Sami 'LarsLuzak1' Kelopuro took it down for $317,190, besting a field of 327.

It was one of many six-figure scores during PowerFest, the biggest one of all being earlier last week in the $25,000 Super High Roller event, which was won by Steve O'Dwyer for $896,160. It was a good month for O'Dwyer as he also won a WCOOP title for $227,100 (his two biggest online scores to date).

Elsewhere 888poker held their marquee events of the XL Eclipse series, the $1,050 buy-in Main Event with a $1 million guarantee. There were 710 entries, meaning it had a sizeable overlay, and it was a legendary heads-up match between 'Isildur1337x' (Don't be fooled, it is not Viktor Blom, it's actually MTT legend C.Darwin2) and 'Romeopro33', which saw 'Romeopro33' win it for $187,500.

And so ends the biggest month of the online poker year, where perhaps the most notable story of all is that the wave of recent DDoS attacks did not impact PokerStars, partypoker or 888poker's biggest MTT festivals (even though all sites were impacted in the build up to them).

Such a shame that in Hungary we cannot create an account on 888poker.
