Poker will feature in Red Dead Redemption 2

We recap some stories you may have missed including a poker player profiled in The New York Times and a very silly scarf.

Poker in Red Dead Redemption 2

That ever-narrowing gap between poker and video games is getting shorter, with poker becoming a playable feature in the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2.

It features in the trailer below and will be a part of single player campaign mode.

And we can confirm this is real (in case you are skeptical following our April Fools joke where we said the next GTA game will feature real money poker, which would still be cool):

George Danzer has nothing on this guy

Once upon a time nobody wore hoodies at the table, until Phil Laak came along. Now it seems that scarf wearing pro George Danzer has a lot to answer for:

Konnikova in the New York Times

Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova

The New York Times seems to like poker at the moment, just a few weeks after profiling Vanessa Selbst they have done the same thing with Maria Konnikova

In the interview she talks about taking a break from writing to play poker, gender stereotypes at the table and being coached by Erik Seidel.

As we have written before, Konnikova's story is potentially one of the best organic shots we have at renewed interest in poker with the mainstream media, with this high profile feature being a great example.

The Doug Polk Foundation

You have to give it to Doug Polk, he goes to great lengths to keep his stream and videos entertaining, whether it's through big hands, epic rants, or simply childish jokes:

Given you play real money poker online, would you ever want to play poker within a video game? Let us know in the comments:
