PokerStars Portugal joins Spain and France liquidity

Three segregated markets are now playing with each other for the first time on PokerStars.

PokerStars Spain France Portugal

As of today Portuguese PokerStars players will compete against French and Spanish players. This makes PokerStars the first poker operator to offer shared liquidity between the three previously ringfenced poker regions.

In January PokerStars became the first operator to join the French and Spanish player pools. In the not too distant future Italy could also potentially join this growing player pool, making stiff competition for the global poker networks.

“We have worked hard to become the first operator to bring the benefits of shared liquidity to Portugal. Our players will see a huge increase in the variety and scale of our tournaments and promotions and will enjoy more excitement, more competition and more fun!” said Guy Templer, Chief Operating Officer of The Stars Group. “This dramatically strengthens our offering and demonstrates our commitment to the Portuguese market.  We look forward to working with the Portuguese regulator to further improve the poker product offering for Portuguese players, and additionally hope that Italy will soon progress so that their players can also enjoy the significantly better experience that shared liquidity brings.”

To celebrate the new combined network will be hosting the Trio Series of tournaments with combined guarantees of €5 million from June 3-13.

It is possible for International players to play on this network as long as they are not in a segregated market.
