Polk leads the American Poker Award nominations

We round-up some more stories you may have missed including the American Poker Awards and a sick run by Stephen Chidwick in the USPO.

American Poker Awards nominees

American Poker Awards

The American Poker Awards take place in Hollywood on February 22 (The European Poker Awards we understand are set to take place later this year) and the nominees are in.

20 awards are being awarded in total with quite a significant increase in industry and content creation categories, as podcasts, streamers, Vloggers, broadcasting, journalism, industry person and influencer are all among the awards being handed out.

Leading the way is Doug Polk who has nominations for playing, Vlogging and influencing. You can see the full list here.

Chidwick crushing the USPO

Over in Vegas the US Poker Open is taking place, streamed on PokerGo. It is looking highly likely that UK pro Stephen Chidwick will emerge the series champion as not only has he won two events outright, he has also made two other final tables and at the time of writing has just made a third (fifth overall).

At the time of writing he has made $994,600 from the series and will go over the million mark after today. Right now it would take something very special to budge him from the top of the rankings.

Event Winner  Prize
$10,000 No Limit Justin Bonomo $190,400
$10,000 PLO Mike Gorodinsky $179,200
$25,000 No Limit Stephen Chidwick $374,000
$25,000 Mixed Games Stephen Chidwick $382,500
$10,000 No Limit Ben Tollerene $187,600
$25,000 No Limit Benjamin Pollak $416,500

The Polk/Negreanu cold war continues

Skip ahead to 48 minutes to see Polk reignite the 'rake' meme feud between the two:
