Team PokerStars share Spin & Go Max tips

Randy Lew, Adrienne Rowsome and Felix Schneiders share a few pointers on the latest lottery SNG format from PokerStars.

What do you enjoy about Spin & Go Max?

Spin Go Max

Felix “xflixx” Schneiders: I enjoy the many different thrills which keep up the excitement during play.

Adrienne “talonchick” Rowsome: I like that most often when you win the top prize, it’s on average much bigger than a regular Spin & Go prize. I noticed this because on the wheel I give away equity in spins most of the time and I’m now paying out higher $ amounts when I win.

Randy “Nanonoko” Lew: With the limited amount of hands the game seems to be quite fast which is nice.

What advice would you give to players new to the format?

Spin Go Max

Felix “xflixx” Schneiders: Play superbankrolled for these (300+ buyins), adjust quickly to number of opponents (more aggro in shorthanded, more relaxed and making money in the bigger ones when two people get paid) and picking close spots before the forced all-in whenever possible.

Adrienne “talonchick” Rowsome: I tell people to pick the same box all the time to decrease your mental anguish!

Randy “Nanonoko” Lew: Play tight and aggressive to accumulate chips to give yourself the best chance of winning the All-in stage.

What playing style do you use?

Felix “xflixx” Schneiders: I apply my usual Spin & Go tactics which is to see as many flops as cheaply as possible, but the biggest adjustment is using close spots in a more aggressive way due to the forced All-in later on.

Adrienne “talonchick” Rowsome: Similar to my Spin & Go strategy - but I do tend to get hyper aggro the last 4-5 hands before being forced all in, in an attempt to gather as many chips as possible to be able to perform well in the All-in mode.

Randy “Nanonoko” Lew: I just play good poker and don't deviate much from a solid strategy.

How do you beat Spin & Go Max?

Felix “xflixx” Schneiders: Like I have said before the biggest adjustment is using close spots in a more aggressive way due to the forced All-in later on. Other than this I apply my usual Spin & Go tactics and I adjust quickly to the number of opponents and try to see as many flops as cheaply as possible.

Adrienne “talonchick” Rowsome: Solid aggressive play.

Randy “Nanonoko” Lew: I treat this to a similar Spin & Go and use a solid strategy.

Most solid strategy would be not play these. Or on Stars at the first place.
