Viktor Blom wins PokerStars $1,050 Sunday Grand PLO

Following his recent WCOOP win and 2nd place finish in the Powerfest High Roller, Isildur1’s fine form continues with another tournament win.

Viktor_Blom Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom claimed another online MTT win on Sunday when he won the PokerStars $1,050 Sunday Grand PLO.

The win was his first since his first WCOOP victory just a few weeks ago which preceded his runners up performance in the Powerfest $25k High Roller event signalling a potential recasting of himself as an MTT player.

Better known as a high stakes cash game player, the Swede has now collected more than $1m exclusively from online tournaments over recent weeks, even if this latest win was playing at what were relatively small stakes for him.

In all, 149 entrants set out to stake a claim for one of 19 slices of the $149,000 prize pool which boiled down to Blom versus the Lebanese player ‘YOUYOU777’ who was beaten into second place for a $22,542 runner-up prize.

Nowadays, a lot of former cash gamers have to transition into MTTs because that's where most of the highroller fish has moved, which is logical - MTTs have a bigger variance, more gamble, and the rakeback reduction implies that there's no longer any merit to paying a lot of rake per month in CGs, while MTTs are still a moderately raked format.
