\nHet was een van de moeilijkste finale tafels die we de laatste tijd gezien hebben. Met spelers als Matt Hawrilenko alias Hoss_TBF, James Akenhead, Antoine Saout, Jason
\nMercier, Praz Bansi, Daniel Negreanu en Barry Shulman aan de finale tafel was er hoogstaand poker en veel spanning te verwachten. <\/p>

Jason Mercier begon als chipleader en, gezien zijn resultaten in voorafgaande toernooien, was hij een van de favorieten voor de titel. Uiteindelijk werd Mercier slechts vierde en zijn teleurstelling was duidelijk zichtbaar. Het was echter een buitengewoon resultaat voor de jonge speler die zeker tot een van de meest getalenteerde jonge spelers behoort.<\/p>

Al snel na Mercier was het Praz Bansi die door Negreanu op de derde plek werd neergezet. Met een hele schare Britse fans in de zaal wist Bansi de stemming er met zijn aanwezigheid goed in te houden maar uiteindelijk bleef het winnen van een tweede bracelet een droom voor Brit.<\/p>

Heads up tussen Negreanu en Shulman<\/h2>

De shortstacked Negreanu wist, door zijn eliminatie van Bansi, niet alleen de heads up strijd te bereiken, maar \"Kid Poker\" ging zelfs aan de leiding en was waarschijnlijk nog nooit dichter bij het winnen van zijn 5de bracelet.<\/p>

Een immense pot zorgde er echter voor dat Shulman de chiplead overnam:<\/p>

Negreanu vecht tevergeefs terug

Negreanu had nog maar 2.5 miljoen chips, terwijl Shulman ongeveer 7.5 miljoen had. Ondanks dat Negreanu terugkrabbelde en zelfs nog even de chiplead met één BB terug wist te krijgen, was het Schulman die op het beslissende moment voor lag. <\/p>

Met blinds van 50.000\/100.000 en \"Jc\"\"8d\"\"5d\" op de flop, check-raisede Negreanu Shulman naar 900.000. Na enkele minuten nadenken pushte Shulman all in en Negreanu callde. Het leek alsof \"Kid Poker\" die avond 100 keer azen gedeeld kreeg, maar het board werkte keer op keer niet mee en deze keer was het Shulman die pocket rockets in zijn handen had. Negreanu liet \"Qc\"\"Jd\" zien, maar deze keer waren het de azen die wonnen en Negreanu hield nog maar 1 miljoen chips over.<\/p>

Iets later, nadat er bijna 5 uur heads up gespeeld was, wist Shulman zijn tweede bracelet te winnen en daarmee £801.603.<\/p>
