Poker pro David Williams (foto rechts) heeft zich recentelijk aangesloten bij het gezelschap van Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Joe Cada en Chris Moneymaker, doordat hij een contract heeft getekend met PokerStars<\/a>, 's werelds grootste poker room.<\/p>

Williams, een voormalige Magic: The Gathering<\/em> speler, schakelde in 2000 over op poker en had Team PokerStars Pro Marcel Luske als mentor.<\/p>

Bijna $8 miljoen winst tot nu toe<\/h2>

In 2004 eindigde hij als tweede in het World Series of Poker Main Event, waarmee hij $3,5 miljoen won, zijn grootste winst tot dan toe. Enkele maanden later eindigde hij nogmaals op de tweede plaats, maar ditmaal tijdens de $10.000 WPT Borgata Open en won daar $573.800 mee.<\/p>

Twee jaar later won hij een WSOP bracelet na het winnen van het $1.500 Seven Card Stud event met een hoofdprijs van $163.118. In April 2010 won hij het $25.000 World Poker Tour Championship en cashte $1.530.537 met zijn overwinning.<\/p>

In totaal wist de jonge pro bijna $8 miljoen te winnen. Om de overeenkomst te vieren zal PokerStars op 6 juli een media receptie in Las Vegas houden, waarbij twee andere pro's aanwezig zullen zijn: 2009 WSOP Main Event winnaar Joe Cada en NAPT Mohegan Sun winnaar Vanessa Selbst.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
