Uitschakelingen volgen elkaar snel op<\/h2>

De deelnemers voor wie een deelname aan de WSOP een unieke ervaring is nemen graag genoegen met het overleven van de bubble. Professionals vinden dit echter niet de moeite waard en hebben hun ogen op de finaletafel en als het even kan meteen ook op de overwinning gericht. <\/p>

Peter Jetten had er dan ook geen enkele moeite mee om rond de bubble van Event 2 Q7<\/b> naar het midden te schuiven. Dat hij tegen AA<\/b> aanliep en met lege handen naar huis moest was jammer, maar hij kwam om te winnen. Ook Dan Shak en Farzad Bonyadi haalden het geld niet. Dan Kelly wist zijn short stack wel om te zetten in een 39e plaats. Toch zal de €2.665 euro die hij hiervoor in de plaats krijgt eerder als een teleurstelling dan een overwinning aanvoelen.<\/p>

Vanessa Selbst wist Lars Bonding uit te schakelen toen ze met AK<\/b> in early position raisede en vervolgens de 20 big blind shove van Bonding, die \"\" \"\"  had, callde. Het \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" board gaf Bonding nochtans de beste hand en zorgde ervoor dat de \"\" niet langer in staat was Selbst redding te brengen. Maar een van de overige twee koningen kwam alsnog op de river tevoorschijn.<\/p>

Het geluk was echter voor korte duur want Selbst geraakte kort na die hand crippled, nadat haar QQ<\/b> geen stand konden houden tegen de AQ<\/b> van haar tegenstander. Enkele handen later schoof ze de rest van haar chips naar het midden met A6<\/b> tegen 77<\/b>. De aas waarop ze hoopte kwam echter niet op het board tevoorschijn en Selbst strandde op de 32e plaats.<\/p>

Ook de laatst overgebleven Belg, Francois Jardinet, wist het einde van de dag niet te halen. Zijn 55e plaats levert hem wel nog een kleine cash op.<\/p>

Romanello op weg naar Triple Crown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Erik Cajelais hield het uit tot de twintigste plaats, maar daarna was het Roberto Romanello die de aandacht stal. Romanello had door solide spel, het winnen van een enorme flip (88 > AK<\/b>) en wat geluk (AK > KK<\/b> een enorme stack weten op te bouwen.<\/p>

Romanello leek dan ook kans te maken om als chipleader richting finaletafel te gaan. Die eer zou uiteindelijk naar Gianluca Speranza gaan, die voor het einde van de dag een grote pot tegen Romanello speelde. Speranza callde de 3-bet van Romanello en beide heren bleven checken tot het board zich als volgt vervolledigde: \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\". <\/p>

Blijkbaar hadden beide spelers geslowplayd. Speranza maakte een bet, Romanello maakte een kleine raise en Speranza raisede nogmaals, waarop Romanello de call maakte. Speranza had \"\" \"\", Romanello's hand bereikte de muck voordat iemand zijn kaarten kon zien. <\/p>

Ondanks deze hand heeft Romanello nog steeds een erg gezonde chipstack om de bracelet in zijn bezit proberen te krijgen. Hij heeft reeds een EPT en WPT titel, dus een overwinning zou hem de befaamde triple crown<\/em> opleveren.<\/p>

Event 3 (€5.300 Pot-Limit Omaha) gaat van start<\/h2>

Tijdens de World Series of Poker van dit jaar meldden we dat sommige topspelers niet tevreden waren<\/a> over de structuur van de PLO toernooien.  Het zogenaamde 'triple chance' format zorgde ervoor dat men minder diep kon spelen, waardoor de edge van de professionals kleiner werd.<\/p>

 <\/p>

De PLO toernooien tijdens de WSOPE volgen dit format niet. Uitgeschakeld is uitgeschakeld, maar dit zorgt er wel voor dat de spelers een stuk meer konden aanvangen met hun stack. Dit ligt eerder aan de Franse wetgeving (triple chance lijkt iets te veel op een rebuy systeem, wat dan weer te veel op gokken lijkt) dan aan een beslissing van hogerop. Ondanks deze verbeterde structuur slaagden er slechts 49 van de 180 spelers in om het einde van de dag te behalen. Slechts achttien van hen zullen er iets aan overhouden.<\/p>

In PLO kan het snel gaan. Daniel Negreanu (8 7 6 6 <\/b>) schakelde Patrik Antonius (A A 7 3<\/b>) uit door meteen een straight te floppen. Hij werd echter niet veel later uitgeschakeld toen zijn \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" het niet kon halen tegen de \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" van Juha Helppi. Ook Helppi wist het einde van de dag niet te halen, net zoals Erik Seidel, Freddy Deeb, Tom Dwan, Brian Hastings, Isaac Haxton, Tony G, Andrew Robl en vele anderen.<\/p>

Er waren ook een handvol spelers uit Nederland en België terug te vinden onder wie Davidi Kitai en Govert Metaal. Van hen zou enkel Dries Goyens, die zich helemaal onderaan de chipcounts bevindt, het einde van de dag halen.<\/p>

Shannon Shorr heeft op dit moment de chiplead in handen. Shorr is vooral bekend van zijn online succesen, maar heeft ook bijna 4 miljoen dollar winsten weten te behalen in live toernooien. Ook David Williams, Jason Mercier en Phil Hellmuth zijn nog in de running.<\/p>

 <\/p>

Hellmuth's berekening van gisteren<\/a> leek overigens niet te kloppen. Als Lamb in het Main Event negende wordt zal hij 759 punten hebben in de Player of the Year race, tegenover 755 punten voor Hellmuth. Hij heeft dus extra reden om zijn best te doen.<\/p>
