De winnaar van het lang geplande gevecht tussen Lex 'RaSZI' Veldhuis en Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier is bekend. De meningen over wie de grootste kanshebber was, waren erg verdeeld. Omdat er slechts vijf korte rondes van drie minuten zouden worden gespeeld<\/a>, verwachtten de meesten dat het op een gelijkspel zou uitdraaien. <\/p>

Dit bleek uiteindelijk toch niet zo uit te draaien. In de tweede ronde schopte RaSZi<\/i> zijn Franse tegenstander reeds K.O. Naast de $100.000 die hij van ElkY ontvangt, krijgt hij nog vele duizenden dollars uit andere weddenschappen. Ook Daniel Negreanu pikt een graantje mee, hij was ook overtuigd van de winst van Veldhuis.<\/p>

De Nederlandse pokerpro was alvast erg overtuigd van zijn overwinning. Zo wist Doyle Brunson hem te overtuigen om een weddenschap af te sluiten, waarbij een gelijkstand ook als een overwinning voor ElkY zou meetellen. Brunson trok zich echter op het laatste moment terug.<\/p>

Op de afbeelding rechts zie je de schop waarmee de wedstrijd beëindigd werd. Omdat de wedstrijd opgenomen werd tijdens een Spaanse tv-show, zal het waarschijnlijk nog even duren voor er beeldmateriaal van hoge kwaliteit beschikbaar is. Morgen begint de Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) in Macao. Net zoals elk jaar zijn er rond deze periode heel wat professionele pokerspelers en rijke Chinese zakenmannen aanwezig. Dit leidt telkens weer tot cashgames met gigantische stakes en dat is dit jaar niet anders.<\/p>

Volgens GARFIELD25, een speler die vaak aan de online high stakes-tafels te vinden is en ook in Macao aanwezig zou zijn, is Tom 'durrrr' Dwan tot nu toe de grootste verliezer. Op een week tijd zou hij $2.6 miljoen verloren hebben. Alhoewel deze informatie voorlopig onmogelijk te bevestigen is, leek tafelgenoot Phil 'MrSweets28' Galfond het woord van GARFIELD25 niet in twijfel te trekken.<\/p>

Ook Phil Ivey, die na zijn afwezigheid tijdens de World Series of Poker in geen enkel event nog gezien werd, lijkt niet te kunnen weerstaan aan de actie. Ook hier is er geen officiële bevestiging, maar de kans dat het management een naam van een grappenmaker op de wachtlijst zet, lijkt wel heel erg klein.<\/p>

CNN interviewt Shawn Busse over Black Friday<\/h2>

Black Friday was lange tijd niet uit het nieuws weg te slaan. Latere updates, waarin er toch al heel wat beter nieuws te melden viel, bleven echter uit.<\/p>

Nu komt CNN toch met een kleine stukje over de meer recente situatie. Alhoewel het niet 100% up to date is, blijft het stuk opvallend neutraal en veroordeelt het poker niet. In het stukje, dat je onderaan dit nieuwsbericht kan vinden, wordt Shawn 'jordankickz' Busse geïnterviewd.<\/p>

Busse won vorig jaar een WSOP-bracelet en had de laatste jaren $300.000 winst gemaakt op Full Tilt, waarvan er nog $60.000 op zijn account stond. Het interview werd vermoedelijk voor het bekend worden van de deal<\/a> tussen de Groupe Bernard Tapie en het Amerikaanse Department of Justice opgenomen.  <\/p>
