Dit weekend ging in het Casino Barcelona het EPT €5.300 buy-in Main Event van start. Vorig jaar kwamen er in totaal 1.082 spelers aan de start, toen ging Mikalai Pobal aan de haal met de hoofdprijs van €1.007.550. Op zondag kwamen er dit jaar 518 spelers in actie, daar kwamen op maandag nog eens 708 deelnemers bij. De registratie is nog open tot aan het begin van Dag 2, de prijzenpot zal dus ruim €6.130.000 bedragen. <\/p>

Naast heel wat Team PokerStars Pro's zagen we gisteren ook Team PokerStars SportStar Ronaldo in actie komen. De Braziliaanse voetballer wist Dag 2 echter niet te bereiken. FC Barcelona speler Gerard Piqué komt wel terug op Dag 2 met 23.100 chips.<\/p>

Ook heel wat Nederlanders en Belgen komen vandaag nog in actie. De Belgische Team PokerStars Pro Christophe De Meulder start op Dag 2 met 111.500 chips. Steven van Zadelhoff (65.000), onze eigen communitymember Pieter 'ruleza' Aerts (42.400), Govert Metaal (33.800), Kenneth Kui (107.700) en Fatima Moreira de Melo (16.700) nemen vandaag ook allemaal plaats aan de tafels. <\/p>

'CameleonBE' tweede in Sunday Warm-up<\/h2>

De Belgen doen het niet alleen in Barcelona heel goed: dit weekend behaalden enkele Belgen uitstekende resultaten op PokerStars<\/a> (PokerStars.be<\/a> voor België). <\/p>

'CameleonBE' werd tweede in Sunday Warm-up; hij kon heads-up niet winnen van de Deen 'Palsgaard1'. In de laatste hand was de Belg all-in met \"\"\"\", 'Palsgaard1' maakte de call met \"\"\"\". De flop kwam echter \"\"\"\"\"\", geen hulp meer op de turn of river voor de Belg en hij moest tevreden zijn met $53.084.<\/p>

'WhoAreYoux1' werd dan weer achtste in de Sunday Million, de 6.659 deelnemers zorgden voor een prijzenpot van $1.331.800. 'WhoAreYoux1' mocht door zijn prestatie $15.981 bijschrijven.<\/p>

Op zondag kwam het eerste event van het tiende European Poker Tour seizoen al tot een einde. Na drie dagen spelen wist de Rus Vitaly Lunkin de hoofdprijs en Shamballa bracelet mee naar huis te nemen.<\/p>

Aan de finaletafel van acht zaten natuurlijk alleen maar bekende namen: EPT-winnaar Steve O'Dwyer, november niner David Benefield en PokerStrategen olekonjole en fabstinho.<\/p>

Er moest echter nog één speler de finaletafel met lege handen verlaten: shortstrack Timothy Adams ging al snel all-in met \"\"\"\", Erik Seidel maakte de call met \"\"\"\". Het board kwam: \"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\" en Adams moest naar de rail verdwijnen.<\/p>

Uiteindelijk waren het de veteranen Lunkin en Seidel die het mochten uitvechten voor de titel. De chiplead ging even over en weer, uiteindelijk werd het lot van Seidel bezegeld toen hij all-in ging met \"\"\"\". Lunkin maakte de call met \"\"\"\", het board \"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\" stuurde Seidel naar huis met €557.100. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
