Het $10.000 buy-in Main Event tijdens de PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is ondertussen al toe aan Dag 3. De registratie was open tot op Dag 2, er kwamen zo in totaal 1.031 spelers aan de start. Dat zijn 44 spelers meer dan in 2013, maar toch nog veraf van het recordjaar 2011, toen er 1.560 deelnemer waren. De spelers mogen een prijzenpot van $10.000.700 onder elkaar verdelen, PokerStars had $10 miljoen gegarandeerd en moest dus net niet bijleggen. 151 spelers zullen met minstens $16.000 naar huis gaan, de winnaar mag $1.820.420 bijschrijven.  <\/p>

Er kwamen gisteren 632 spelers terug voor Dag 2 van het toernooi, chipleader was de 2007 WSOP bracelet-winnaar Shankar Pillai met 173.900 chips. Natuurlijk kwamen er weer heel wat Nederlanders en Belgen aan de start in dit toernooi. Zo zagen we op Dag 2 onder andere: Rens Feenstra (148.400), Noah Boeken (122.200), Pascal Vos (110.200), Davidi Kitai (85.000), Paul Berende (72.600) en Team PokerStars Pro Christophe De Meulder (25.500).<\/p>

Bekende namen die we vandaag op Dag 3 terugzien zijn: Team PokerStars Pro's: Liv Boeree, Vanessa Selbst, Dario Minieri Angel Guillen en ook de Nederlander Marcel Lüske. Er zitten ook nog heel wat landgenoten in het toernooi: de Nederlanders Niels van Alphen, Rens Feenstra en Paul Berende hebben allemaal heel wat chips om Dag 3 mee te beginnen. Ook de Belgische EPT-Berlijn winnaar Davidi Kitai zit nog in het toernooi. <\/p>

Zij zitten allemaal tussen de 215 overblijvers die vandaag terug in actie komen, chipleader aan het begin van Dag 3 is: Pascal Lefrancois met 412.000 chips. Shaun Deeb wint PCA Open-Face Chinese Event<\/h2>

Ook dit jaar was er weer een Open-Face Chinese Poker-event tijdens de PCA. Deze pokervariant is al enkele jaren enorm populair bij heel wat pokerspelers. PokerStars organiseerde daarom voor de tweede keer een OFC-event op de Bahama's. <\/p>

Er kwamen 53 spelers af op dit $2.200 buy-in re-entry toernooi, zo was er dus een prijzenpot van ruim $100.000. Zevens spelers gingen niet met lege handen naar huis; zo mocht Jon 'PearlJammer' Turner $6.680 ophalen. Ook Team PokerStars Pro en OFC-fan Jason Mercier eindigde in het geld (5de - $8.740).<\/p>

Uiteindelijk moest Paul Volpe het opnemen tegen Shaun Deeb voor de titel. Deeb is volgens heel wat mensen in de pokerwereld de beste OFC-speler, hij zou zo goed als perfect spelen. Hij zorgde er ook voor dat het spel enorm populair werd, overal waar hij kwam maakte hij er 'reclame' voor. <\/p>

Volpe was dan ook niet teleurgesteld toen hij werd uitgeschakeld ($23.400): \"Lost heads-up to the master of open face, he plays perfect so it's hard to beat. Congrats\". <\/em>Zo mocht Deeb $32.380 bijschrijven en natuurlijk op de foto met de trofee. <\/p>

PCA 2014: Q&A Team PokerStars Pro's<\/h2>

Naast de vele toernooien organiseert PokerStars<\/a> (PokerStars.be<\/a> voor België) nog tal van andere activiteiten voor de deelnemers van de PCA. Zo zijn er bijna dagelijks Q&A sessies met verschillende leden van Team PokerStars Pro. Hieronder kun je kijken naar enkele van deze interviews:<\/p>

Eugene Katchalov en Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier hebben het over gezondheid, voeding en sport. De laatste jaren zijn Katchalov en Elky echte gezondheidsfreaks geworden, zij zijn er dan ook van overtuigd dat het ook een positief effect heeft op hun spel:

Vanessa Selbst, Isaac Haxton en David Williams praten over staking en swapping. Zij vertellen over hun ervaringen en hun eigen overtuigingen: zo swapt Williams geen percentages meer omdat het hem heel wat geld heeft gekost (tussen $600.000 en $700.000), terwijl het hem zo goed als niets opbracht.

Johnny Lodden, Theo Jorgensen en Ville Wahlbeck hebben het in hun sessie over prop betting. Zij vertellen over heel wat ludieke weddenschappen die zij al hebben aangegaan. Zo wou Jorgensen ooit proberen te spurten tegen een pinquïn.
