\"TeamDe APPT deed voor het eerst Nieuw-Zeeland aan en volgens alle betrokkenen was het een groot succes. 306 deelnemers zorgden voor een volle bak in het Skycity Casino. Team PokerStars verscheen met 3 spelers aan de start. Joe Hachem, Lee Nelson en Greg Raymer kwamen voor het team uit, daarnaast waren er onder andere ook de gesponsorde spelers Eric Assadourian en Grant Levy.<\/p>

In Nieuw-Zeeland kwamen geen Belgen in actie, wel hadden 4 Nederlanders zich ingeschreven voor het event aan de andere kant van de wereld. Namelijk Branco Dekkers, Yvo Molin en de twee PokerStars Qualifiers Ramon den Teuling en Marien Gast. Geen van deze spelers wist echter ITM te komen.<\/p>

\nNieuw-Zeelanders domineren deelnemersveld<\/b>\n<\/p>

Het overgrote deel van de deelnemers was afkomstig uit Nieuw-Zeeland zelf. Met 157 spelers was iets meer dan de helft afkomstig uit het thuisland, een groot deel van de ITM plaatsen werd dan ook bezet door Nieuw-Zeelanders. Van de 32 betaalde plaatsen werden er namelijk 15 bezet door het thuisland. De wiskunde achter de prijsverdeling klopte dus in ieder geval wel.<\/p>

\nHeads-up tussen Nieuw-Zeeland en Australië<\/b>\n<\/p>

\nMet al 14 plaatsen ITM moest nu nog de zege behaald worden. De Australiër Matthew Konnecke had hierover natuurlijk andere gedachten. De vreugde was groot toen Daniel Cracker het toernooi in zijn voordeel wist te beslissen. De Heads-up duurde slechts 2 handen wanneer Daniel Cracker preflop all-in gaat met . Hij krijgt een call van voor een coinflip. Het board komt en daarmee bleven de pocket deuces dus overeind. Hiermee ging de zege en het prijzengeld van $153.399 naar Daniel Cracker.<\/p>
