In plaats van het voorbeeld van landen als Italië, dat onlangs online poker legaliseerde en reguleerde, en Zwitserland, dat hetzelfde overweegt, te volgen ging Noorwegen afgelopen week precies de tegengestelde kant op.
\n\"WPT\" Het Noorse Parlement stemde voor een wetsvoorstel waarin vormen van online gokken, inclusief poker, illegaal verklaard worden voor inwoners van Noorwegen. Deze Noorse UIGEA verbiedt alle financiele transacties van en naar deze sites, behalve transacties naar het Noorse staatsbedrijf Norsk Tipping AS. De officiële reden achter het besluit is dat de regering de wet wilt gebruiken om probleem-gokkers te beschermen, van een bescherming van de inkomsten uit het staatsbedrijf is naar verluid geen sprake. <\/p>

\nDe nieuwe wetgeving zou halverwege 2009 van kracht moeten worden. Financiële instellingenen protesteerden echter direct tegen het besluit, net zoals in de V.S. gebeurde bij de invoering van de UIGEA. Volgens hen is het onmogelijk om alle transacties te controleren en zou daarvoor niet genoeg apparatuur en mankracht beschikbaar zijn. Daarnaast blijven er dan altijd grijze gebieden, waarin niet duidelijk is wat wel en wat niet illegaal is.\n<\/p>

\nDe EU in Brussel heeft duidelijk gemaakt tegen het Noorse verbod te zijn, ook in het verleden heeft het Noorwegen al laten weten tegen een Noors verbod op online gokken te zijn.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
