$9,2 Miljoen mocht Peter Eastgate na zijn overwinning bij het main event, mee naar huis nemen. Daarmee verdiende hij in een klap meer dan enige andere Deense speler. Eastgate wil een deel van zijn gewonnen geld nu gebruiken ten goede van kinderen wereldwijd.

\nFriends of Eastgate<\/b><\/p>

Samen met zijn broer Casper richtte Eastgate een organisatie op, die zich zal richten op het helpen van kinderen. Het doel is niet dat alleen Eastgates toernooiwinsten (in de toekomst zal hij 1% van zijn toernooiwinsten direct aan zijn organisatie doneren), ten goede komen van de organisatie, maar ook gelden van andere mensen die zich bereid voelen om de organisatie te steunen.<\/p>

Zo zijn de Deense pokerpro's Theo Jorgensen, Mads Andersen en Martin Vallo al \"Vrienden van Eastgate\" geworden. PokerStars<\/a> zal de organisatie eveneens sponsoren. <\/p>

Al het gedoneerde geld zal aan verschillende goede doelen, die zich wereldwijd voor kinderen inzetten, verder gegeven worden. In een persconferentie, waarin Eastgate het oprichten van de organisatie bekend maakte, toonde hij zijn beweegredenen hierachter: \"I think we can all agree that a child in need is
\nworth helping\".<\/p>

Toernooien voor het goede doel<\/b><\/p>

Naast het inzamelen van donaties wil \"Friends of Eastgate\" in de toekomst ook toernooien voor het goede doel gaan organiseren. Zo staat er voor mei al een toernooi geplanned in Kopenhagen.<\/p>

Daarnaast is zou het zo kunnen zijn dat PokerStars<\/a>
\nook een online charity toernooi zal gaan organiseren en eventueel de rake van een aantal cashgame tafels aan de organisatie zal schenken.<\/p>
