Zijn grootste succes vierde Huckleberry Seed alweer bijna 13 jaar geleden toen hij, in 1996, het main event van de WSOP won. Met nog 3 andere bracelets en in totaal 36 WSOP-Cashes  sinds 1990 is deze Amerikaan met bijna $5 miljoen aan toernooiwinsten een van de succesvolste spelers.<\/p>

\nVorig jaar moest Huck Seed (foto rechts) bij het NBC NHUPC het veld in de kwartfinales verlaten, toen hij verslagen werd door Andy Bloch. Dit jaar bereikte hij door het verslaan van Sam Farha in de halve finale, de finale tafel, waar hij de sterk spelende Vaessa Rousso trof, die de kans had om als eerste vrouwelijke speelster de titel te pakken. <\/p>

Op haar weg naar de finale schakelde Rousso spelers als Doyle Brunson, Paul
\nWasicka (NHUP Champion 2007), Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu en als laatste
\nBertrand Grospellier uit en was daarmee voor velen de favoriet voor de titel.<\/p>

\"VanessaIn de finale kon Rousso (foto links) deze indrukwekkende reeks echter geen vervolg geven. Zo pakte ze nog wel even de chiplead, maar wist deze niet lang vast te houden. Op een board vuurde Rousso een grote bet, om vervolgens te moeten folden op de all-in van Seed. <\/p>

Het lukt Seed daarmee, om zonder grote showdowns, zijn zojuist veroverde chiplead verder uit te bouwen. Relatief short pushte Rousso met all-in en liep daarmee tegen de van Seed. Het board bracht geen hulp meer en de eerste match ging daarmee naar Seed.<\/p>

Om haar kansen op de titel levend te houden moest Rousso nu de tweede match winnen. Maar ook hier pakte Huck Seed al snel te leiding om deze in het vervolg niet meer af te staan. <\/p>

In de beslissende hand had Rousso bij blinds van 15.000\/30.000
\nnog slechts een kleine  400.000 chips. Zonder preflop actie zagen beide spelers een flop . Op de turn kwam
\nen Vanessa opende met een halve potbet van 30.000. Seed leek lang te denken om vervolgens Rousso te reraisen naar 130.000. Nu was het de beurt aan Rousso om rustig de tijd te nemen om na te denken, om vervolgens haar all-in aan te kondigen. Seed callde ditmaal direct en toonde voor toppair. Rousso had
\nvoor het geturnde paar tienen. De river veranderde niets meer aan de uitkomst en Huck Seed won het NBC NHUPC 2009 en $500.000 prijzengeld.<\/p>
