Om precies te zijn bedroeg de prijzenpot $1.110.200, waarvan Karl Hevroy een groot deel mee naar huis zal nemen. Hij liet 326 spelers achter zich wat hem een prijzengeld van $283.500 opleverde. In de heads-up versloeg hij de Argentijn Alejandro de Arruabarrena.<\/p>

Dat Hevroy (foto rechts onder; na zijn overwinning) überhaupt meespeelde bij de LAPT in Punta del Este, heeft te maken met zijn deelname aan de EPT
\nKopenhagen. Hij leerde daar enkele spelers uit Peru kennen en toen een vriend zich voor het LAPT event wist te kwalificeren liet hij er zich toe overhalen om ook mee te spelen. Zijn buy-in van $3.700 heeft hij er in ieder geval wel uit gehaald.<\/p>

Start-doel-overwinning<\/b><\/p>


\nHij domineerde de finale tafel vanaf het begin, zoals hij voorgaande dagen ook op de andere tafels gedaan had. Als chipleader had hij vanaf het begin van de dag al meer dan dubbel zoveel chips als zijn naaste belager en bouwde zijn chiplead constant uit, door zijn tegenstanders flink onder druk te zetten. Toen het spel bij de heads-up was aanbeland had hij al een chiplead van 6:1 opgebouwd.<\/p>

Zo kon het gebeuren dat de eerste hand tussen beide spelers ook direct de laatste van het toernooi was. Alejandro de Arruabarrena
\ncomplete zijn Small Blind en Hevroy checkt voor de freeplay. Op de flop speelde Hevroy Checkcall waarna hij op de turn
\nall-in check-raisede. Arruabarrena maakte de call en zette de Noor op niet op een sterke hand want hij draaide slechts open voor Queen hoog en de straightdraw. Hevroy had met echter een monster geflopt en was al voor de river zeker van de zegen.<\/p>
