Jednakże w heads-upie poniosło go wyraźnie i dał się ograć przez bardzo agresywnego Christiana Heicha. Za drugie miejsce w turnieju zgarnął on ponad 110 tys. $ AUD. Żaden z shortów, którzy wówczas byli na późnych<br>\npozycjach nie zdecydował się na kradzież blindów i akcja spoczęła<br>\nwłaśnie w rękach Griffitha, który dołożył z małego oraz<br>\nBouya'ego, który stuknął w stół. Steve przez chwilkę układał żetony<br>\ntak, jakby chciał zagrać raise, ale po chwili porzucił ten zamysł<br>\ni tylko stuknął w stół. Gdy akcja doszła do Rochforda, ten stwierdził, że rywale<br>\npokazali słabość, dlatego on zabierze pota tu i teraz. Zagrał bet<br>\nza 80 000. Heich przez chwilę może i miał ochotę coś<br>\npokombinować, jednak po zestackowaniu swoich rywali stwierdził, że<br>\njest to zbyt ryzykowne i złożył karty do mucka. Do finałowego stolika podszedł z bardzo krótkim<br>\nstackiem, który jednak pozwolił mu na przetrwanie dwóch swoich<br>\nrywali. Jego ostatnie rozdanie rozpoczął Paul Rochford open raisem<br>\ndo 60 000 z cut-offa. Siedzący na buttonie Heich nie omieszkał<br>\nwejść Paulowi w rozdanie z pozycji i dołożył brakujące żetony.<br>\nDeanowi zostało już tylko 52 000 w stacku, którymi po prostu<br>\nsprawdził. Nic ciekawego nie działo się między Rochfordem i<br>\nHeichem, którzy na każdym streecie grali check.
