\nFoi disputada na passada semana mais uma etapa do WPT. Desta vez a acção decorreu no Commerce Casino em Los Angeles - California. Com um buy-in de $10,000, o número de inscritos
\nchegou aos 665 jogadores, o que criou um prize pool no valor de
\n$6,384,000, cabendo ao vencedor final do torneio um cheque no valor de
\n$1,596,100.<\/p>

\nForam muitos os profissionais que participaram neste torneio, e muitos deles foram ficando pelo caminho à medida que a prova se ia desenrolando. No entanto, a Final Table deste L.A. Poker Classic contou com a presença de seis jogadores fortíssimos, algo que já não acontecia à bastante tempo. Eram eles:<\/p>

\nE com uma mesa assim tão bem preenchida, era de esperar que houvesse muita acção, mas não tão rápida assim, pois logo na primeira mão da Final Table Charles Moore vai all-in na BB de Phil Ivey. Ivey pensa durante um bom bocado, talvez calculando as stacks dos jogadores, a sua mão, o porquê de um all-in logo na primeira mão, etc. Demorou mais de cinco minutos até tomar uma decisão - \"Call<\/em>\". Moore tinha (A\"\"-K\"\") e Ivey (A\"\"-9\"\").
\nNa board aparece (6\"\"-3\"\"-2\"\"-J\"\"-Q\"\"). Nada ajuda Ivey e Moore ganha a mão, deixando assim Ivey com uma stack semelhante à dos outros jogadores.<\/p>

Umas mãos mais tarde, e depois de ter perdido um pot grande para Nam Le, Phil Hellmuth short stack vai all-in pré-flop contra Charles Moore e não consegue vencer. Era assim eliminado na sexta posição.<\/p>

A acção decorreu depois a um ritmo normal, e foi preciso esperar até à mão #50 da Final Table para se assistir a mais uma eliminação.
\nNam Le faz um raise a partir do cutoff para 350,000 e Montgomery na Big Blind faz all-in com a stack que lhe restava (800,000). Le pensa um pouco e faz call com (K\"\"-J\"\") - Montgomery tinha (J\"\"-8\"\"). Na board aparece (7\"\"-5\"\"-5\"\"-3\"\"-3\"\") e Montgomery era assim eliminado na quinta posição.<\/p>

O jogo continuou morno, como se vinha desenrolando desde início, e por isso só na mão #97 podemos ver outro jogador a ser eliminado. Phil Ivey e Nam Le foram os dois all-in pré-flop. Le tinha (A-A) e Ivey (3-3), no entanto no turn aparece o 3 para dar um trio a Ivey e eliminar assim do torneio Nam Le.<\/p>

Pouco depois, Ivey continua a sua onda de sorte e elimina na terceira posição Charles Moore. Quando na board se podia ver (8\"\"-5\"\"-2\"\"-7\"\") Moore decide ir all-in com (6\"\"-2\"\") e recebe rapidamente call de Ivey que tinha na mão (8\"\"-7\"\"). No river aparece um J\"\", que não ajuda Moore e por isso terminava a sua participação na terceira posição.<\/p>

Na entrada para o heads-up final, Phil Ivey<\/strong> tinha uma diferença muito grande emtermos de stack em relação a Quinn Do.

Será que Ivey iria conseguir consolidar o seu favoritismo e ganhar pela primeira vez um evento do WPT? Ou iria continuar a dar razão aqueles que começavam a criticar a sua falta de resultados em torneios Live nos últimos tempos?\"Phil
\nA diferença em termos de stack era tão grande, que seria algo catastrófico se um jogador com a qualidade de Ivey não conseguisse levar de vencido o seu adversário. Mas Ivey demonstrou a sua qualidade e conseguiria vencer pela primeira vez na sua carreira um evento do WPT (world Poker Tour).<\/p>

Na mão final Quinn Do completa a small blind e Ivey faz um raise para 400,000 que Do paga. Flop (A\"\"-8\"\"-6\"\") - Ivey aposta mais 700,000 fichas e Quinn Do faz call novamente.
\nTurn (A\"\") - Ivey vai all-in. Quinn Do pensa durante um bom bocado e pensando que pouco mais poderia fazer se não ganhasse este pot, decide fazer o call com (9\"\"-8\"\"). Mas Ivey não estava a fazer nenhum bluff, pois tinha na mão (A\"\"-8\"\") que lhe dava um full house e a vitória neste L.A. Poker Classic de 2008, levando assim para casa um cheque no valor de $1,596,100.<\/p>
