Conhecido como o homem que está sempre a oscilar entre a riqueza e a pobreza, parece que foi desta que Griffin conseguiu finalmente encontrar a fórmula vencedora, pelo menos no papel. Contudo, problemas psicológicos, nomeadamente o seu grande ego (como o próprio admite), têm-no impedido de manter os ganhos alcançados.<\/p>

Problemas com gestão de banca, tilt e tendências degeneradas têm dificultado o desenvolvimento de um especialista muito talentoso em cash games. Somente graças às suas capacidades naturais é que Griffin consegue recuperar dos grandes downswings por que passa e voltar novamente a subir nos limites.<\/p>

Com apenas 20 anos de idade, Griffin alcançou os limites mais elevados do poker online. Contudo, uma má selecção de jogos (por exemplo, ele desafiou Phil Ivey na RailBird Heaven da Full Tilt e David Benyamine no seu melhor jogo, Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo) saiu-lhe muito caro. Ashton chegou a descer até às mesas de $1\/$2 antes de começar novamente a sua recuperação.<\/p>

As incursões ocasionais de Griffin pelos torneios de poker ao vivo também têm sido bem sucedidas. Ele, no ano passado, ganhou o $25k Invitational High Roller Bounty Shootout em Las Vegas para um prémio de $560k. Ashton tem nesta altura no seu currículo $677.234 em ganhos de torneios ao vivo.<\/p>

Está no bom caminho para os $10 Milhões<\/h2>

Independentemente dos seus swings, os resultados de Griffin são extraordinários. Há uma semanas, na sua página do Twitter, Griffin escreveu o seguinte: \"Estou a atravessar uma fase impressionante nos jogos de $500\/1k\/2k PLO do Rio.<\/em>\"<\/p>

Como podes ver, não é apenas nos jogos ao vivo que Griffin tem sido bem sucedido. Aqui fica um screenshot do seu gráfico de Pot-Limit Omaha, o qual ele publicou no seu blogue<\/a> (clica nele para aumentar):<\/p>

Griffin já leva mais de $8 milhões em ganhos em Pot-Limit Omaha ao longo de 746.202 mãos. Ele tem uns impressionantes $4 milhões a mais do que o EV.<\/p>

Ele também se tem dado muito bem com No-Limit Hold'em, ganhando aproximadamente $2 milhões ao longo de  1.046.103 mãos:<\/p>

Talvez a lição mais valiosa a retirar da carreira do Griffin é a importância da psicologia no poker. Ashton tem sido atormentado por demónios mentais, com o seu ego a decidir que ele é capaz de bater os mixed games, Poker Chinês e apostas desportivas. Estas crenças equivocadas têm prejudicado o que poderia ser uma carreira perfeita no poker.<\/p>
