Por que razão é que Phil Hellmuth, detentor do maior número de braceletes WSOP no mundo, não é o jogador de poker mais respeitado?<\/p>

Alguns podem argumentar que é por causa da sua atitude nas mesas ou das suas entradas no Main Event. Contudo, outra razão pode ser o facto de que todas as suas 11 braceletes foram ganhas em eventos de Texas Hold'em.<\/p>

Entre os profissionais, existiu sempre um grande respeito pelos jogadores que não são \"especialistas\" e que conseguem jogar bem em qualquer mesa, independentemente da variante que esteja a ser jogada.<\/p>

O evento Poker Player's Championship no World Series of Poker é o derradeiro teste às capacidades globais no jogo de poker. O buy-in são uns impressionantes $50.000, a competição é do melhor que há e o jogo disputado é mixed.<\/p>

O torneio que agora é conhecido como Poker Player's Championship teve início em 2006 como o evento $50.000 HORSE.<\/p>

Participaram 143 jogadores e acabaria por ser o falecido Chip Reese a derrotar Andy Bloch no heads-up para conquistar a bracelete.<\/p>

Em 2007, Reese faleceu com 56 anos. Ele era um jogador extraordinário, uma força positiva na comunidade de poker em Las Vegas e, na opinião de todos, um grande homem. Desde 2008, o vencedor do evento recebe todos os anos em sua honra o \"David 'Chip' Reese Memorial Trophy\".<\/p>

Em 2010, o evento passou de HORSE para o formato rotativo de 8 jogos que tem actualmente.<\/p>

O Poker Player's Championship este ano teve início no dia 2 de Julho e é um evento de 5 dias.<\/p>

O torneio deste ano conta com uma mistura de 8 jogos: Limit Hold'em, Omaha Hi\/Lo, Razz, 7-Card Stud, 7-Card Stud Hi\/Lo, No-Limit Hold'em, Pot-Limit Omaha e 2-7 Triple Draw.<\/p>

Com a excepção de alguns profissionais da Full Tilt, que nesta altura devem estar a lidar com alguns problemas de negócios, todos os grandes nomes do poker mundial estão presentes.<\/p>

O torneio está previsto terminar no dia 6 de Julho, e um jogador vencerá o Troféu Chip Reese, uma bracelete WSOP, o respeito do mundo do poker e $1.720.328. Nada mau pela vitória num evento.<\/p>
