My next series I already made but I have had plans on doing something with lower stakes in the future. Not exactly what since I don't put much volume there but maybe a live session in the 2.20s

i really dont like the way u played the JJ postflop. Postflop I agree that u should 3bet preflop. I also agree that u r never folding postflop. I just think it is better to check behind on the flop and call it off on the turn or river. C-betting basically forves him to call with better and fold worse, i would prefer to allow him to bluff the turn and then call it off given that u will only need like 20 something percent equity to make the call.

i also think u can 3bet/4bet light in FR tournaments b/c people like never play back without premiums

    Great vid as always.

I have the feeling that you are 3beting on the BB the same way as if you are on the BU. I know open raisers from the BU should wider but he could call you and outplay you.

Am I correct or do you 3bet less in BB?
  • AaronLambert

I do 3bet less from the BB as apposed to the button because I do like building pots in position as opposed to out of position. I will three bet light more often from the BB against a SB raise though since it is headsup and I have position.

I like the insight on the JJ hand and I never thought of that line tbh. I am always so set on cbetting almost always that I some times don't give enough thought to other lines.
  • AaronLambert

And yes you can three bet light in FR too but it is very hard to consider 3betting early position raisers. Although I have no problems once it folds to middle position to 3bet light.

I think my next series will show you that :D.

Hey there, Aaron. Here are some questions from russian community. In fact, only one question:

quote: Author of this video few times used check/raise into a dry board with Queen high or King high saying our opponent can't hit this board often. But what can we represent on boards like this ourself? The only thing I see - sets and TPTK. But no one would play set or TPTK with check/raise. Usually it will be check/call just for keeping worst hands in play and not to isolate ourself against better hands. So what's the point for check/raising like this?

Any answer will be really appriciated. :)

And one more question to be added.
    Hand 89o
    Board K63
Here you say that our opponent can have some weak aces, like A6 or A3, but you also say he would raise most of his kings preflop. So here is the question - why we are thinking he won't raise Ax preflop and will with Kx?
  • AaronLambert

    Question 1)

Generally at this level people don't really think as deeply as to what we can represent if we were to check raise and as often as people cbet now you can be sure check raising with air on dry boards is always going to be a +EV play in the long run.

That being said as you move up to higher stakes people can be on a much higher level of thinking and can play back at this type of play. Just at this level you don't see it very much if ever.
  • AaronLambert

    Question 2)

I definitely misspoke here and what I meant to say is that he would most likely raise with a king to my cbet because he has played pretty straight forward up to this point. Sometimes I get talking and random words happen to come out of my mouth :D.

    Thank you much, Aaron!
