2:07 you said "1st in from SB" is different from SB steal. How so? Definition from HEM site: "SB Steal": When someone raises from the SB when the pot is unopened.
  • Hlynkinn

#2 steal stat also includes when the player raises over limpers.. but 1st in from the sb only includes when it's folded to the player while in sb.

ps. I only know this because I also had to ask <3 that question lol..

    good job, nice vid

#2. i didnt look at the definition from the HEM site. but i know the two are definitely different. because 1st in from SB and SB steal produce diff figures in my database. I might email HEM just to confirm and get back to you. Its not a big deal anyway, both will produce similar figures.
  • lessthanthreee

    from hem

"Raise First is similar to Pre Flop Raise except it doesn?t include 3bets as its only the 1st person to raise that has their Raise First stat
acted and it doesn?t include raising limpers. SB raise first only refers to SB

Steal = When someone raises from the CO, BTN or SB when the pot is unopened."

    Thanks, nice video!

dont u think, it´d be better to filter the BB-size, than the count of the players at the table?
  • lessthanthreee

#8. i tried filtering for BBs, but i struggled to get good samples using that filter. I'm used to using the number of players filter, but im sure BBs would work just as well.

    Nice video!
Question on your stats, see you dont have fold to steal on your hud. Do you usually just read out from vpip if its worth stealing wide against them or do you see any value in actually looking at the specific stat?
  • lessthanthreee

#10 - i realised after I recorded the video that i missed out one! The green statistic on the bottom right of each player is fold BB to steal. :)

First video ive watched on, really enjoyed it lot's of good spots that will help improve my game.

Ile be adding a few more stats over the next few weeks.

I would like to know how you separate the stats so that you can place them in different parts of the avatar as im playing on a small laptop screen with limited space.

    #12 - HUD options>player preferences>appearance tab>[x] use multiple panels

tbh not a fan of the min3bet with AA starting around 30:00.
when he makes it 3x with this stack I don't see him folding pre too often, especially since you shoved on him last orbit with AQ.
As played you give him a chance to fold his 88 or AQ type hands postflop which would have paid you off pre
  • goldchess

Very good video overall though :)

#14. Im mainly trying to get him to flat the worst hands in his PFR range like KQ/KT/55/A7 and stack off light post-flop. the very bottom of his range is unlikely to fold pre to a small 3bet but easily fold to a 13bb shove. And post-flop he only has 1/2 PSB left so I dont see him folding many hands post-flop. imo the 'premium' hands in his range like 99+ AQ+ are never folding to a shove or to a small 3bet so im just trying to get some more value from the very worst hands in his range that would flat call the 3bet and stack off light post-flop. You might be correct in that some players would just flat AQ/88 type hands and fold on bad boards. But if they flat those hands then they are flatting most of their PFR range which would allow us to extract some more value post-flop from those hands. As an example his PFR is 13. so maybe he calls a small 3bet with that entire range, but only calls a shove with the top 8/13. we might lose some value against those middle hands, but we should gain a lot more value from the bottom 5 of his range.

I would never do this against a reg, but against unknowns you can definitely get them to spew off light with a play like this.

Its obviously not a mistake just to shove, but we should always try and extract maximum value in every hand. And inducing an unknown here seems a little more +EV to me.

Its easy to be results oriented here because he snap flatted the 3bet pre then snap folded the flop, but i think we are getting max value from his entire range.

If his stats were tighter, lets say an 8% PFR. then i would just ship it in because hes never folding anything in that range pre-flop.

I probably should have sized the 3bet slightly larger pre-flop so he would feel more committed on the flop. :)

You says you call/push like NASH says, do you mean the headsup push/fold NASH equilibrium or there is other one?
  • lessthanthreee

@20 nash means the nash equilibrium. you can apply the nash range to any push/fold situation in a SnG. including HU,3handed,6handed,9handed etc.. you just need to input all stacks and blinds into the nash calculator and it will give you the appropriate nash range. the HU nash range is for HU play. But the same equilibrium concept can be applied to every other push/fold situation in the game (but you must be careful that you understand when you can use it correctly, if you use it against fish or against non-adjusting regs you will be losing money because you can use an exploitative strategy instead)

great video :) looking forward for more :P
  • vidrata

    Very nice video thanks!

I have a question. I noticed that your stats are moved in different spots. Mine appear in 3 lines below the screen name. I was wondering, how can I change that, since your layout is more appealing to me?

  • lessthanthreee

HUD options>player preferences>appearance>[x] use multiple panels

  • BudSpencer8

what for color-codes do you use for "Fold BB to Steal"? It seems to be always green in your video.
  • lessthanthreee

    Hi BudSpencer8,

I used to have it as >50% green, <50% red. But now i just have it as one colour. I dont think it really matters whether you like colour coding for different ranges or just having 1 colour.
  • Tim64

    always good ;)
  • chukcha000

how can i make these filters for different number of players?
