Description

In the third installment of his "Party for Three" series, Moskvyak explains how to properly play in the middle stage of Spin & Go. He will provide charts for steal and shove situations. On top you will learn about alternative ways to play your hands to gain some extra edge. All this will be rounded up by using those strategies in live play on $3 and $7 Spin&Go on PokerStars.

Thank you, this series is very helpful. Are there any other similar videos to come? :)

I just played the craziest Spin&Go (1$) ever: one player was always raising 100, 120 from the very beginning of the game and almost all the time (in some rare occasions he folded), the other one was always either folding, either going all-in. What can be done in cases like this? Just go along and hope for the best? :)

#3 - Moskvyak has actually made two parts in the same series, which are available for Gold+ in the Russian archive, and part 6 is coming up, but as far as I've understood, the English administration is not going to translate them. It's not a big deal anyway because most of his wisdom is contained in his Saturday coachings in Russian. Yes, speaking this difficult language is an asset once in a while :p

#4 - Raising half of one's stack is actually a move that Moskvyak likes to do (even overuses). It's done in two scenarios:

    1) With a premium hand, to entice a recreational player to call wider and also make a mistake on the flop.

    2) (revealed just yesterday) With a marginal hand when Hero is SB and wants to isolate a recreational BTN from a BB reg. (I'm not so convinced that it's a +EV act, though.)

I doubt that you ran into Moskvyak's student in a $1 tourney, though; most probably your opponent was recreational and got a strong hand; it might be the opposite sometimes, but you still need to wait for a good hand to enter the pot, and then you'll likely be able to see what the opponent shows down and make a conclusion.

But of course, if you see that someone makes such big raises 3-5 times in a row, then it becomes more plausible that he's a maniac, and so you can widen your calling (trapping) range (shoving makes little sense because there's no fold equity; but don't fold the flop if you see it) - add aces with medium-low kickers and more broadway hands and pocket pairs.

@tonypmm: Thank you very much for the answer and explanations. I have a better idea now on how to handle the maniacs. :))
And I guess I should start learning Russian... :P

thank you great video! I wonder if it might be possible to discuss in a future video on the impact of ante in the twister game proposed by Ipoker. I exepcted it could have a significant impact on our game comparing to the ante free spin & go proposed by Pokerstars? Thanks in advance.
