起脚牌就是指属于玩家的起手牌并且这张不是用来组成成型牌但是能决定胜负的牌。 只有低于用5张组成的成型牌例如，4条，3条，对子等等。当2个玩家拿到了相似的成型牌，将会由起脚牌来决定胜负，不过如果2个玩家的起脚牌都不高过公共牌那么2个玩家将平分底池。 <\/p>
