Levelling或to level的说法源自level thinking（层次考虑）的概念。在扑克桌上的意思就是在你选择一个行动之前，你要试着考虑对手的level，来断定这个行动会给他什么样的形象。主要是考虑对手可能的想法。<\/p>

当然，你可以继续这种思考，想出无穷多的level，-“我的想法是什么？对手在想什么？对手认为我在想什么？对手认为我对他的想法是什么？对手还会想在我看来他们认为我在想什么？......以此类推。这些被称为第二次level thinking，第三次level thinking等等。<\/p>

例如：<\/p>

你在游戏中也许有一些可能被其他玩家察觉的模式化的打法。例如，你可能偶尔试图用纯诈唬在某些牌面和某些情况中赢下底池。如果你正处在这样一种情况中，但是害怕对手已经知道你会怎么打，并可能因此对你再诈唬，而你也可能想再次诈唬他，诸如此类。<\/p>

这样做会产生不错的效果，但是也可能让你在行动时想得太多。例如，当你试图证明一个特定行动的正确性时过分沉迷于level thinking，而对手对这种情况却甚至没有任何进一步的想法，因为他已经有了坚果牌。<\/p>
