EPT伦敦站主赛事第5阶段决赛日，光芒本应该只覆盖在John Juanda身上，至少外界是这么认为的。比赛开始他就排名第2，并且筹码优势明显，不过最终夺冠的却是当时排在第3的年轻的无名苏格兰职业扑克玩家David Vamplew，他最终带走了£900.000的冠军奖金和EPT冠军奖杯。<\/p>

他们两人第一次在派桌上正面遭遇的时候桌上还剩下7个人，Juanda翻牌圈前就首先加注，接下来又在在之后的每条街都一路下注，公共牌最终是\"5s\"\"jc\"\"3h\" \"kc\" \"7s\"，Vamplew在河牌圈又跟注了Juanda的下注。摊开底牌是\"kh\"\"qh\"，顶对加一个大踢脚。但是很不走运的是Juanda底牌却是更大的\"5d\"\"5c\"，在翻牌圈就击中了3条。于是这一局之后顺理成章的Juanda荣登至第一名，Vamplew则跌至倒数三名。 <\/p>

苏格兰选手的夺冠之路<\/h2>

不过扑克的世界什么都可能发生，他先是用一对Q将小筹码选手Kayvan Peyman淘汰在第5名，当时的情况是这样的，Kyle Bowker 更早的时候跟注了Peyman全押的时候还放了一些果汁在底池里，不过这之后又遇到了Vamplew的全押，让这一次的胜利更加甜蜜。<\/p>

两个多小时之后，比赛还剩下3个人。当时有两个大筹码选手，Juanda和Kyle Bowker，他大概觉得时机到了。其中一局两人都在翻牌圈加注，而且底牌是冤假牌，Juanda底牌\"tc\"\"th\"，落后于Bowker的\"jh\"\"js\"。不过幸运女神这一次站在Juanda这一边，转牌圈的时候公共牌来了第4张草花，让Juanda拿到了同花。Juanda最终赢得了Bowker这一局，后者在不久之后出局，作为季军获得奖金£300,000。<\/p>

Juanda接下来跟Vamplew进入单挑局，筹码更是对手的3倍，这也给了年轻的苏格兰人很大的压力。Vamplew比赛中也只能眼看着筹码慢慢流逝而无能为力，不过还好运气不错，每次在全押的时候总能拿到好牌。关键的一局，他翻牌圈先是以\"jh\"\"ts\"全押，当时公共牌是\"js\"\"jd\"\"7s\"。Juanda底牌只是\"j4\"\"2h\"，同样都是3条，却输在了踢脚上。Vamplew在这一局之后筹码反超，在比赛当晚第一次排到了第一的位置。<\/p>

Vamplew这个时候排在第一，但不意味着胜利就唾手可得。Juanda之后又赢下了不少小底池和中底池，直到又一次全押。Vamplew再次在这一局中胜出，底牌是\"tc\"\"9c\"，而Juanda底牌是\"ah\"\"5s\"，后者赢面更大。不过翻牌圈Vamplew就拿到了同花听型牌，并且后面还来了一张决定胜负的\"ts\"， 河牌圈对Juanda毫无帮助，这一局之后Juanda的筹码还有对方的2倍。 <\/p>

15分钟之后，双方选手再一次全押。这一次是Vamplew首先发难，当时公共牌已经是\"qc\"\"4h\"\"kh\" \"jc\"，Juanda底牌是\"as\"\"th\"， 毫不思索的跟注，Vamplew的底牌是\"ac\"\"6c\"，只是一手同花听型牌，不过河牌圈的一张\"3c\"让他拿到了想要的牌，让Juanda饮恨败北。<\/p>

这一局之后还经过了很多局，Vamplew最终靠着努力反超了对手。而Juanda变得有些情绪失控，这一局他凭着 \"kd\"\"2d\"就全押，Vamplew跟注，底牌是\"ac\"\"3h\"，而这已经足够击败Juanda，后者在翻牌圈看到一张A就知道自己只能接受亚军的命运。<\/p>

最终转牌圈和河牌圈成全了这位23岁的小将，他一般都在线上扑克室玩NL400和NL600级别，不过现在一举拿下了 £900.000冠军奖金和EPT冠军奖杯。 这是他本人最大的一笔线下比赛奖金，之前最大的一笔奖金还是今年WSOP赛事中获得了$6,000。<\/p>
