\"WPT\"2008五星级世界扑克赛主赛事即将开始，前面的一些小赛事已经在几天前就开始。一共有14项德州扑克无限制赛事，包括这项WPT Doyle Brunson扑克冠军赛在内。买入费设定在$15,000 + $400。<\/p>

本项赛事通常会有世界顶尖扑克面对面的对决，奖池也是非常巨大。去年，就有626名选手参赛，奖池也超过了900万美元。最终冠军被 Eugene KAtchalov夺得，他也夺得冠军奖金超过240万美元。<\/p>

这几年WPT主赛事总有相当数量的世界顶尖扑克选手参赛，Gus Hansen (2002), Paul Phillips (2003), Daniel Negreanu (2004), Rehne Pedersen (2005) 和Joe Hachem (2006)都取得过这项赛事的冠军。<\/p>
