研究论文的发布者Erik J. Schlicht进行了这样一个实验，分别由许多名扑克新手来玩简化过的德州扑克游戏。试验前所有的测试项目都是经过筛选的，在扑克测试中占的比重至少为70%。<\/p>

实验过程中，玩家仅仅根据牌面和对手的表情来决定是否应不应该弃牌，跟注会导致赢得会输掉5,000筹码，不过弃牌会减少100筹码。<\/p>

Schlicht和他的同事发现，带有强烈杀气或者是很面部表情的扑克脸并不能对实验结果起到很大的影响。不过，当玩家遇到一副通常都是微笑着的表情显得很值得信任的面孔的时候，玩家在这过程中会减少正确的决定次数。<\/p>

值得信赖的面孔比拿到一副大牌更好<\/h2>

\"这样的情况表明，当扑克玩家面对着微笑着的，带有非常自信表情的对手的时候会做错误决定是因为他们相信坐在对面，微笑着的对手一定会比面无表情的对手有更好的底牌。\"Schlicht在论文结论如是写道。<\/p>

Schlicht做这个实验的时候是哈佛大学的博士后学生， 论文的题目是\"对手表情对博弈游戏过程的影响\"。 Shinsuke Shimojo, Colin F. Camerer, Peter Battaglia和Ken Nakayama也都参与了本项研究。<\/p>

如果这项研究成果应用于现实生活中，Phil Ivey也许会有更好的赢利收入，因为他在桌上通常都是微笑着，带着强烈自信的表情。不过现在，这项研究成果也只是一个可怕的设想而已。<\/p>
