Team SoyCD Conquers the Leaderboard

A solid performance by the entire team and a 41st place finish by Timukasr has moved Team SoyCD into first place in the rankings. The Mod Squad is close second.

With three members ITM and all four players among the top 1050, Team SoyCD secured first place in terms of average finish long before the last players busted. Yet the fight for the other two gold medals was far from decided and would continue deep into the night.

With 400 players left in the tournament, the English community still had 3 members in the race. Chiller3k for the ModSquad (Top15 in chips), Timukasr for Team SoyCD (Top 100 in chips) and erptech for Team Judgernaut (around average stack). It looked to be a promising match-up with final table potential. Erptech, who was the shortstack of the 3, would be the first to head to the rails when he re-raised a blind steal attempt with AK. The other player called with QT and was able to spike a ten for the victory. Nonetheless his excellent performance was good enough for 2 bronze medals for Team Judgernaut.

For the next 1,5 hours nothing changed as both Timukasr and Chiller3k maintained their chipstacks in a bid to bring victory to their respective teams. Yet in the end, it was Chiller who was eliminated first when he lost a coinflip with 66 vs AK. Although he managed to flop a set versus the TPTK of his opponent, the runner runner straight ended his ambitions for the final table. Nonetheless there were two silver medals more for the Mod Squad which is now firmly seated in second place in the overall rankings.

With players busting one after the other and the final table rapidly approaching, it looked good for Timukasr who had been playing a very solid tournament. Yet in his final hand, he saw himself in bad shape holding AJ vs JJ in a pre-flop all-in. The board brought no help and he finished the tournament in 41st place - which is a new community record.
