Updates: Events 18, 19 & 20

Three further events have started. The focus lies on the $5,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball w/ReBuys Event, a favorite tournament of the stars.

 

Event 18: $5,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball w/ReBuys

 

Preferred Tournament of the Pros
The number of stars at the $5,000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw Event
was higher than at any other tournament of the Series to date. The
slightly different poker tourney is an absolute favourite among the
stars. $5,000 buy-in and unlimited rebuys, as well as the game variant
are creating an almost family-like atmosphere among the pros. Only
a few amateurs signed up for this event.

Only 85 Participants
With only 85 participants, the field was relatively small. In return, it
was star-studded. Tom 'durrrr' Dwan had the chip lead after the first
day – and had to leave the tourney today as the final table bubble boy
on rank eight. David Benyamine was able to send him to the rails.

Event 20 - $2,000 Limit Hold'em

 

479 players gathered for the $2,000 Limit Event. 125 of them survived
Day 1. The prize pool sums up to $871,780. The winner receives $204,434.

Biorac still in the Game
From Germany, Sasa Biorac made it into Day 2. He will return to the Rio
tomorrow with 18,600 chips. The chip leader is Daniel Makowsky,
slightly ahead of Eric Buchman.
Still in the race are also Stuart Paterson (42,000), Daniel Negreanu
(32,200), JC Tran (25,100), Phil Hellmuth (13,100) and Alex Kravchenko
(9,900).

Event 19 - $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha

 

70 Participants out per Blind Level
For the 19th tournament of the Series, 759 players paid the buy-in of
$1,500 and thus generated a prize pool of $1,036,035. The winner will
receive $227,933.
Only 46 players survived the first day, which means that on average, 70
players dropped out per blind level. That's Pot-Limit Omaha for you!

Vannessa Selbst undisputed Chip Leader
Chip leader is Vanessa Selbst with over 200,000 chips. Her closest
follower, Anthony Phillips, has only about 133,000 chips at his
disposal.
