News: No-Limit Heads-Up Championship

The four finalists of the $10,000 Heads-Up Championship have been determined. In the semi-finals, Vanessa Selbst faces Alec Torelli, Kenny Tran is up against Jonathan Jaffe.

Vanessa Selbst vs. Alec Torelli

Vanessa Selbst was able to win her first bracelet in this year's World Series of Poker when she defeated Jamie Pickering in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha
Event. Furthermore, she cashed in the $2,500 No
Limit Hold'em Event. Last year, she finished third in the WSOP Heads-Up
Championship. In the semi-final she was beaten by the later winner Daniel Schreiber. By reaching the semi-finals again this year she proves her special heads-up skills. In the previous round, she sent Robert Mizrachi to the rail.

Alec Torelli is less experienced in live poker than Vanessa. His biggest live success was a fifth place in the LAPT San
José. In return, Torelli is a known online player who can be found regularly on the high stakes. In the previous round, Torelli prevailed over Lyle Berman.

Kenny Tran vs. Jonathan Jaffe

Kenny Tran finished off Brandon Adams in the previous match. Tran is probably the most experienced live player in the semi-finals. Even though he hasn't landed the big hit yet, he is often found in the money ranks of the most expensive live events. In his career he already has seven WSOP cashes to show. Furthermore, he finished in the money three times at the WPT. His best result was a tenth place at the WPT $25,000 No Limit Hold'em Championship Event in April.

Jaffe was able to defeat Gavin Griffin in the previous match. Griffin
already had a crushing 10:1 chip lead, but Jaffe managed an incredible comeback and made it into the semi-final. For Jaffe, reaching this spot is his biggest success for now, even though he already has two WSOP cashes: Rank 88 in this year's $1,500 Short-handed No-Limit Hold'em Event and rank 25 in the 2006 $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Event.
