WSOPC at Harrah's Rincon: Pilgrim Tops Everyone

The
World Series of Poker Circuit stop at Harrah's Rincon near San Diego,
California has come to an end. The last event on the schedule was the
$5,000 Circuit Championship and a total of 106 players showed up, which
generated a prize pool of $530,000.

The heads-up match featured
the Day 1 chip leader Esther Taylor going up against Dwyte Pilgrim. However, Taylor soon found herself short-stacked and
forced to make a move against Pilgrim if she wanted to stay in the race
for the title.

Taylor moved all-in with and Pilgrim called with . The board revealed , thus giving Pilgrim a pair of twos and the title. Taylor
had already cashed in a preliminary event and now had to settle for a second place, which puts her at five
cashes in 2009.

Meanwhile, this was Pilgrim's second WSOP Circuit ring, as he had already won one in a
$500 buy-in event at Caesars, Atlantic City earlier this month. In
total, he cashed nine times so far, with eight of them coming from the
Circuit events in Atlantic City and now Rincon.
