High Stakes July Ranking: Ashby Conquers The Online World

July saw a whole new level of sickness, as Gus Hansen, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and others waged never-ending wars across the PLO tables, In the end, it was Richard Ashby who got the best of it.

High Stakes July
If you ever wondered how sick can the action get on
the online high stakes tables, then July would be the perfect place to
look for the answer. Top pros engaged in multiple marathon sessions
throughout the month, mostly playing PLO $200/$400-600 and even the
$500/$1,000 PLO HU tables saw their share of action.

It is hard to say one name which marked the month, but one man has certainly earned the right to sit at the throne for July. Richard Ashby played a whooping 28,547 hands across 617 sessions and earned over $1.8 million, thus putting himself at the top of the winners' list.

Another Great Month For Ivey

Phil IveyCole South is trailing behind him with a profit of nearly $1.3 million he recorded in 13,140 hands across 151 sessions.
Meanwhile, Phil Ivey (pictured right) joined the high stakes tables later in the month,
but that didn't prevent him from earning $700k in 5,285 hands across
101 sessions.

Right behind Ivey with a profit of over $600k are howisitfeellike, Brian Hastings and Brian Townsend. Hastings was even less active than Ivey, playing only 1,598 hands in 16 sessions. While he lost to Gus Hansen in $500/$1,000 PLO HU, Hastings got his revenge in $200/$400 PLO and eventually wrapped up the month with a nice profit.

In overall, the top 10 winners' list is relatively balanced for July, unlike previous two months when Tom "durrrr" Dwan earned nearly four times more than his runner-up did.

A Whole New Level Of Sickness

Tom DwanTom "durrrr" Dwan (pictured right) joined the high stakes tables in July with a
blast, winning $800k in one day. However, his following sessions were
not so successful to say the least. When everything was said and done
after 11,927 hands in 204 sessions, durrrr found himself as the leader of losers' list for July with a deficit of nearly $1.2 million.

David Benyamine played only 2,414 hands in 33 sessions but that was
enough to lose almost $1 million to his opponents. Unlike Benyamine,
both LarsLuzak and Gus Hansen were more than active throughout July.
LarsLuzak played 17,334 hands in 350 sessions and lost close to $450k,
whereas Hansen had a true rollercoaster ride.

At one point, Hansen even found himself up by $500k in overall for this
year, but eventually he got stuck by $300k which was just enough to
sneak him into the top 10 losers' of July. Hansen has also managed to
push the boundaries of marathon sessions, as he played an amazing
27,369 hands in 403 sessions, making it hard to find a day in July
which didn't see him connect often more than nine hours of straight
play.
