WSOPE Main Event Recap: Day 1B

Three Team PokerStrategy.com players moved on to day two of the Main Event. They will start at 13:00 to battle it out for another day.

Table of Death

Team PokerStrategy.com members Trader and PokerNoob weren't very fortunate in their table draws. First of all they ended up sitting at the same table and second they were joined by a legion of strong players. The line up beside the two consisted of: John Juanda (winner of last year's WSOPE), Scotty Nguyen, Eric Liu, William Thorson, Yevgeny Timoshenko (WCOOP ME winner) and Jesper Hougaard.

Regardless of their strong table draw they did very well. Especially PokerNoob didn't shy away from getting involved in hands. Right before the day ended, he secured himself a 100,000 stack by taking down a nice pot against Eric Liu. PokerNoob open raised the button and got called by the small and big blind. Flop came and both blinds checked to PokerNoob on button, who made a continuation bet. The small blind folded and Eric Liu in the big blind raised. Turn is a and the action was checked around. comes on the river and Eric Liu fires a big bet. PokerNoob thinks for a while and then calls with - Eric shows .

Trader had a tougher time playing, but he had his good running shoes on. He scooped a pot early on the day with just ace high after barrelling both flop and turn. When the river completed every draw possible on the board, the action went check check and Trader was surprised to see his ace king was good. You can see that Trader ran good in the next hand:

Allanon85 ran less good than the others. He started the day quite well chipping up by first getting a set against a lower set and then taking the rest of the chips from that person with a flush over flush.

He was briefly chip leader for the day. After that, though, his day was a roller coaster between his initial 30,000 starting stack and 60,000. By the end of the day though he only had 20,000 left.

Nazgul had an even rainier day in London. He was quickly eliminated from the tournament. He just couldn't win a hand. He lost with trips vs a full house and was forced to fold the nut flush on a paired board. He finally lost when he got it in with pocket jacks against pocket kings.

The only other PokerStrategist beside the team we could find was psychobenny. His fate was the same as Nazgul's, as he too went out with pocket jacks against pocket kings.

Chip Counts: Day 1A and 1B

There are 178 players left out of 334 and 36 places are paid. Average chip count is 56931. PokerNoob has the most chips from Team PokerStrategy.com with 108,050 and is placed 16th. Trader has 57,975 and Allanon85 is at the bottom of the list with only 20,075 chips remaining.
