Cake Poker Releases New Beta Software - Download and Review

German forum moderator pris0n was able to get a hands on look at the closed beta version of the software during the last few weeks, and now presents us with his first impressions.
Review of the new Cake Poker Beta Software
At first glance, you will notice the improved clarity and comprehensibility of the software, which is without a doubt the most significant change.
Lobby
The new lobby is well structured and offers a complete overview of the different offers and game types, as well as details regarding your account. Compared to the old software, there are now three clearly visible buttons that separate ring games, tournaments and Sit and Gos, and no longer a cluster of different small buttons. The revised tournament lobby offers a competent overview of the upcoming tournaments and those that are running.
Player stats
Cake Poker has also made an attempt at adding a new feature, which is not visibly offered by other poker rooms. It is somehow similar to what the HoldemManager or Pokertracker software can do, but this new feature provides a service directly within the Cake Poker software. Since functionality is still limited, this might be more interesting for beginners who are not using any additional software as yet.
Customisation
The level of customisation has also increased and you now get additional sound and design settings, such as the possibility to mute every individual sound. When it comes to different table themes, you can now choose between several colours and backgrounds. It is still not clear whether there will be an option to create your own table themes in the future.
Furthermore, you can now also pre-select your preferred table seat and choose avatars. You get the choice between traditional avatar images and more modern ones.
Summary
Compared to its previous version, the new Cake Poker update mainly introduces an improved interface which brings a better overview to the user. New features such as statistics information is convenient to have and are particularly interesting for beginners.
In comparison to the former version, Cake Poker has made a big forwards step by developing a client which can compete with the big players on the market.
