So far, this year has been great to Gus, who just seems to crush everyone that faces him at the Full Tilt Poker nosebleed tables.
We're three months in this year and he has already crossed the $4 million mark, just like fellow team member Erik Seidel's did but on the live poker circuit.
One of these latest sessions saw him going up against none other than Phil Ivey. The match lasted for about 100 hands of $500/$1,000 Cap PLO and Gus Hansen walked away with $240k in profit.
$4 million in profit in just three months is amazing for the Great Dane, especially since his lifetime losses in 2010 were more than $9 million.
To put things into a different perspective, last year's biggest winner, jungleman12, finished with a profit of almost $5 million. What we're saying is that Gus is great. Let's hope he keeps it up because Gus is good for the game.

Get ready for FTOPS XX

MiniFTOPS XIX just came to an end but that didn't stop Full Tilt Poker from getting ready for the next FTOPS. Taking place from April 17th to May 1st, FTOPS XX is bringing a guaranteed prize pool of $38 million, spread across 45 events.
The main event features starts on May 1st, has a buy-in of $600+$40 and it comes with a whopping $7.5 million guarantee. By the way, the format is multi-entry, so you have the chance to multi-table it and increase your chances of winning big. In fact, a total of 15 events on the list will be in the new multi-entry format.
The buy-ins range from $109 to $10,300 but you can of course get your seat via satellite qualifiers that are already running on Full Tilt Poker.
Besides No Limit, you can also take part in various other formats like Pot Limit Omaha Hi, HORSE, 2-7 Single Draw, 7-Game. If you're a fan of Rush Poker, don't worry: there will be lots of such events - eight of them, to be precise.

PokerStars close to 60 billion hands dealt

About a year ago, PokerStars announced they dealt 40 billion hands at their cash game tables. Half a year ago, they made it to 50 billion. It seems only logical that they are now reaching 60 billion. Just to make sure you understand how many hands that is: 60,000,000,000. That's 60 billion. Wow.
According to PokerStars themselves, they should reach the milestone hand by the end of March. Just like before, they are going to celebrate this achievement with some nice payouts for its players.
There are 300 milestone hands from 59,700,000,000 to 60,000,000,000, with a total of $1 million being shipped to the players lucky enough to be dealt into those hands.
If you get dealt into one of these milestone hands, you will win $50 + $50 for every VPP you earned during the last 50 hands. Should you win that hand, you will get twice this amount.
The reward for playing hand number 60 billion is going to be 10 times higher: $500 + $500 per VPP earned during the last 50 hands. The winner of this hand gets double the amount, plus an added $60,000.
