EPT player council formed
Ahead of the new European Poker Tour season, which starts in Barcelona next week, PokerStars has unveiled plans for a European Player Council.
"While focusing on the EPT, this council will also be utilised to discuss all of our live events, tours and endeavours throughout Europe, as well as structures, payouts, rules, and more," said Neil Johnson from PokerStars.
The council will meet in Barcelona next week, and work with PokerStars to make changes or improvements to their events.

Ivey tweeting (Or is he?)
There are not many players who can command attention just for the fact that they are using Twitter, but Phil Ivey is one of them. The legendary player has finally started tweeting regularly from his Twitter account @philivey.
Or is he? Even the least savvy social media user can probably guess that he has hired someone from a PR company to take over his Twitter account, judging by the tweets he has offered so far.
It is probably no coincidence that the tweets have started coming thick and fast as soon as the Full Tilt deal with PokerStars has been completed. Could Phil be trying to raise his profile now that the Full Tilt story is behind him?
One thing seems likely, the tweets will be a regular occurrence from this point on.
Hellmuth charity event
Not a day goes by without Phil Hellmuth name-dropping his celebrity friends, but at least now and then it can have a positive outcome. Taking place next week is the 3rd annual "Phil Hellmuth’s Hold’em with Agrace HospiceCare Charity Poker Event".
The event has already raised $250,000 in the first two years, and the event next week will include Jerry Yang, Annette Obrestad, Gavin Smith, Scott Ian from Anthrax, and.....well after that a bunch of names we have never heard of.
All proceeds go to Agrace HospiceCare, and participants will have a chance to win a seat in next year's WSOP Main event.
High stakes corner
The high stakes games just got very interesting, as Gus Hansen is officially back. Playing on PokerStars under the screen name "broksi", Hansen returned to the nosebleed games this month.
Returning to the $200/$400 PLO tables, it is no surprise to learn that Gus has been involved in most of the biggest pots this week, including winning a $136k hand against EireAbu.
According to HighStakesDB.com the Great Dane had a 48 hour period which saw him win $548k this weekend. It seems only a matter of time before he and Isildur1 will lock horns at the PLO tables.
