DOJ working on repayments

The DOJ are looking to employ the services of an independent contractor to help return player's money.

A Claims Administrator will be used to liaise with the Southern District of New York and the DOJ in order to structure and carry out a repayment plan for affected players.

As part of the contract the firm will need to assess around 1.3 million US based claims of alleged fraud involved in the Full Tilt case.

In total there is $159 million available for immediate distribution and suitable financial institutions are being asked to submit their application for the contract by August 31st.

WPT Parx sweet 16

Just 16 players remain at the WPT Parx Open Poker Classic, Pennsylvania. A spate of eliminations on Day 3 meant the field shrunk faster than expected, leaving just a handful of players left at the end of play.

Currently atop of the chip counts is Tony Gregg with 2,786,000, which is over 1 million more than his closest rival, Joseph Wertz.

Of the players left, Chris “Genius28” Lee is one of the most notable and will be looking to parlay his 1.1 million chips into a tournament winning stack.

One player who made it into the money, but not quite far enough was serial min-casher, Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler.

Zynga go off Ongame

Zynga’s move into the world of real money poker has been well documented over the last few months.

One particular avenue the company considered exploring was the purchase of the Ongame Network from bwin.party.

That deal will not take place now according to a source close to Pokerfuse.

Shuffle Master had originally been tipped for the purchase of Ongame; however that deal was quashed last in July when they pulled out of the deal.

A host of companies then entered the market, including Zynga. However, this is will not happen, making it likely that bwin.party will look to Nevada for a buyer.

David Williams is magic

A number of the online world’s most successful players have found their way into the poker community after playing Magic: The Gathering.

One such player is David Williams and in a recent stream he has been demonstrating his skills at the game.

The regular stream on twitch.tv allows anyone to watch and chat with David whilst he plays the game.

When you’re as balla as Sam Trickett even a losing session means having a huge amount of money on the table.

Indeed, in a recent Twitter post the British high stakes star not only showed why he’s above the world of simple poker chips, he’s also massively stacked.

Although he stops short of saying exactly how much he has on the table, the piles of £8,000 chips are there for all to count.

A bad day for Trickett...

Another British high stakes star who’s been making a name for himself in the last year is Alexander “Kanu7” Millar.
