EPT Barcelona Begins Today
The PokerStars European Poker Tour stops in Barcelona this week for an Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event, an EPT Main Event, and several side events.

The 9th season of the PokerStars European Poker Tour will begin today with a stop in Barcelona that will last through August 25th.
There are a few highlights of the tournament schedule over that span of time. First, there is a €1,000 + €100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event beginning today that is sure to attract a massive field. On Sunday August 19th, the €5,000 + €300 EPT Main Event will take place.
Side events include both smaller buy-ins and a few high-roller events, the largest of which is a €50,000 buy-in Super High Roller on Friday, August 17th.
A PokerStrategist Won Last Year
When the EPT stopped in Barcelona last August during Season 8, the turnout was quite impressive. 811 players paid €5,300 to enter, creating a total prize pool of €4,055,000.
120 of the entrants made the money, but ultimately German Martin Schleich was the last player standing. Schleich, a PokerStrategy.com Black Member, defeated a final table which included Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov (who busted in 3rd) to win the title and €850,000.
Hopefully a PokerStrategist can take down this year's event as well!
EPT Season 9
As always, this season of the European Poker Tour will be stopping at various cities across Europe. There will be 2 stops before the end of 2012 - Sanremo on October 3rd and Prague on December 5th. Players can qualify for any EPT stops online at PokerStars.
Winners of EPT titles this season will receive a bit more than the title and prize money. They'll also receive a Shamballa Jewels bracelet (left) and a Slyde HD3 watch (right):
