Horecki dominating MicroMillions

Marcin still cashing

PokerStars pro Marcin "Goral" Horecki earned another MicroMillions cash yesterday to extend his lead in the race for the player of the series prize.

Currently on 365 points - ahead of "Chocoyote" 320 and "sviyat" 305 - thanks to a 229th place finish in Event 69, he's now just a few events away from bagging a trip to the PCA in January.

While Horecki's cash increased his points lead, it was Greece's "kostaspopi21" who boosted their bankroll the most after finishing top of the Triple Stud tournament.

After wading through 3,799 players, "kostaspopi21" overcame the Ukraine's "Torum777" to bank $1,881.

Also enjoying success was: "ThVioli.7" (Event 63 - $4,001), "jimmyrestant" (Event 64 - $2,800), "RogerF" (Event 65 - $3,850), "dropedit" (Event 66 - $3,630), "bblacklegend" (Event 67 - $10,736) and the aptly named "Jacpot555" (Event 68 - $4,725).

More access to the craic

The community spoke and PaddyPowerPoker listened. Despite another successful incarnation of their Irish Poker Open in 2012, the online poker site has decided to lower the buy-in for its main event in 2013.

The news was announced yesterday, with PaddyPowerPoker commenting that following player feedback they have decreased the entry fee from €3,200+€300 to €2,000+€250, so more players can "pay less to enjoy the world famous 'craic' at the Irish Open 2013."

The festival will take place, once again, inside Dublin's Burlington Hotel between March 29th and April 1st and put on a host of side events in addition to the main tournament.

Also announced yesterday was the return of PaddyPowerPoker’s Sole Survivor promotion which will reward their online qualifier who lasts the longest with €50,000 cash, a WSOP 2013 main event seat and entry to the 2014 Irish Poker Open.

Terrence Chan was once adept at grinding against fish at the felt, but now he's more focused on grounding and pounding fools in the ring.

With over $1 million in live winnings and memorable back-to-back SCOOP wins in 2009 to his name, it's fair to say that Chan knew what he was doing at the poker table.

However, after training seriously for a few years he's now become an equally skilled MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter.

Having enjoyed the support of the poker community during his last fight, Chan announced his latest bout on 2+2 and called for the same level of enthusiasm this time around.

Fighting in Vancouver, Canada, tomorrow, Chan will be looking for his second pro win in the sport.

Using the same determination that earned him success in the poker world, Chan stated: "I don't want fame, I don't want money, I just want more fights", and tomorrow he will get that chance.

High stakes corner

Despite micro fever gripping the poker community at the moment, the online world's high stakes games have still been ticking over and yesterday Rui Cao (pictured left) topped the leaderboard.

A profitable session at the Triple Draw tables earned the nosebleed grinder $233,460, putting him just ahead of "1Il|1Il|1il|" who banked $230,797.

The day's biggest loser, "O Fortuna PLS", finished his time at the felt $265,299 in the hole, following an unsuccessful 1,619 hands of poker.

Also suffering losses yesterday was "Kipu" (-$173,083), Ilari Sahamies (-$145,980) and "duubadaaba" (-$94,192).
