We recap some of the stories you may have missed last week including Ryan Riess's stock market picks and JRB's weight loss bet.

Phil Ivey is among 26 hopefuls who have had a preliminary approval to dispense medical marijuana in Las Vegas.

He will have to receive final approval from both a suitability assessment from the City Council, as well as the state health department.

If he manages to get through all that, the ten-time WSOP bracelet winner will become part of the Nevada Medical Marijuana Program (NMMP), which currently services around 550 residents of the state.

Other potential operators who have been approved in principle include restaurateur Michael Morton, entrepreneur Michael Cornthwaite, developer James Hammer, former state Assemblyman Mark James and political consultant David Thomas.

Riess invests in stock market

His Main Event reign ends this month, and last week it was revealed that Ryan Riess has put most of his winnings in the stock market.

He told CNBC that he has money in Apple, Disney, Facebook and Union Pacific.

He also revealed that after taxes and backers expenses, he was left with around $2 million of his $8,361,570 first prize from the Main Event last year.

He weighed in at 244lbs to win his bet to get under 245lbs, a total loss of 43lbs for the duration of the bet.
