The WSOP announce a $565 buy-in, $5 million guaranteed event
The cheapest bracelet event in 35 years makes up part of the recently announced 2015 WSOP schedule.
Some preliminary information has been released about the 2015 World Series of Poker schedule.
The series will take place between May 27 to July 14. The Main Event, which once again guarantees $10 million for the winner, starts on July 5.
The $111,111 One Drop, the Millionaire Maker and Monster Stack events will be returning. There is also a Super Seniors event for players over 65.
“We believe the WSOP is uniquely able to deliver the big event with life-changing money for some and a life-experience for all,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “We are going to proudly stage the kinds of events which draw players from all around the world while also staying true to our heritage of contesting all variants of poker.”
The Colossus
The big talking point, however, is the $5 million guaranteed Colossus, which takes place on May 29. It is a re-entry event with two starting flights a day on May 29 and May 30 (Meaning potentially four entries per player).
The buy-in is just $565, which is the cheapest event in the WSOP for 35 years. Players start with 5,000 chips.
“Load up the entire gang - the home game, the spouse, whomever you know that enjoys the game,” said Stewart. “The Colossus is going to feature a historic prize pool at this buy-in level and it can only happen at the World Series of Poker.”
