The Devilfish is fighting colon cancer
The poker community has flocked to give their best wishes go out to Dave Ulliott who is currently trying to beat colon cancer.
This weekend the British poker community was shocked to learn that Dave 'The Devilfish' Ulliott is suffering from colon cancer. The initial reports suggested he may not make it through the weekend, but just like his poker tough guy reputation, he is fighting back.
In fact Dusk Till Dawn owner Rob Yong posted this picture today after visiting with Ulliott last night, showing the UK legend in good spirits, singing to Yong's dog 'Numpty':

The Devilfish is well known all around the world, but in particular in Europe, and especially in the UK. He is without doubt the most recognisable character in British poker, and his personality is one of the reasons for the success of the game in the UK.
In particular it is his success as the first ever champion of pioneering TV show Late Night Poker that made him a legend in UK poker. Not to mention his WPT and WSOP titles. His ability combined with an incredibly marketable, larger-than-life, 'Bond villian' type of personality made him an instant poker celebrity.
To get an idea of how impactful he has been in the poker world, just check out his Facebook page, which is swamped with get well messages that really exemplify what he has done for the game. These are not just standard best wishes, a great many of them are very personal and touching.
The best of luck to one of the people that made poker what it is today, from everyone at PokerStrategy.com.
