The second week of the Global Poker League was just as interesting as the first. No doubt the biggest story was off the table, as it was revealed that Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul would soon play in the league as a wildcard.
However, for seasoned poker fans, last week showed us the potential the GPL has as an entertainment format going forward, because of the fact there are so many dream matches in the making, like this one.
Given that Jason Mercier is mostly known as a live tournament legend, and Phil Galfond is largely known as one of the best online cash game players ever, rarely do we see them share a table. However, the Global Poker League provided us with just that, in the biggest match of the series so far.
