Barcelona is the biggest EPT ever

Records broken at EPT Barcelona
The big news this week on the live circuit has to be the European Poker Tour rebranding, going global and becoming the PokerStars Championship.
This news has somewhat overshadowed another big moment in PokerStars live events as the EPT Barcelona Main Event has attracted a record breaking 1,785 players.
This is the tour's largest ever attendance, breaking the previous record of 1,694 at this same event last year. 98 players remain at the time of writing and are playing for a first prize of €1,122,800.

It's always worrying when the mainstream media do a feature on professional poker players because there is a tendency to fixate on problem gambling. However, this week the BBC managed in a very short feature to give a somewhat accurate glimpse of the game from a pro's point of view.
