Ren Lin disqualified from WSOP event for ghosting online

After admitting to helping a player at the GGMillion$ final table, the GGPoker ambassador is removed from the WSOP Super Circuit Main Event.

Another high profile player has been disqualified from a live poker event for their conduct online, as GGPoker ambassador Ren Lin was ousted from the WSOP Super Circuit Cyprus Main Event for ghosting online.

He was removed from play after allegations were made on social media that he had ghosted the winner of last week's GGMillion$ event.

Much like Ali Imsirovic has been removed twice from live events for his admitted online cheating. This is also not the first time a GGMillion$ winner has been caught cheating

It started when the third-place finisher in that online event, "Buzzcut" came on to social media to accuse the winner, "RealOA" of being ghosted:

He had screenshots that others had shared showing he was being ghosted, and even had a screenshot of Lin apologising to him for ghosting. Lin claimed that it was "quite common and normal" for players to get advice at online final tables.

Soon after, Lin took to social media to admit that he was giving his friend assistance:

He said that he did not profit from the incident and was merely excited for his friend at a big final table. He revealed that the majority of the prize money was returned, with Lin covering the remaining amount, so that it can be redistributed to the affected players.

Ren Lin is a GGPoker ambassador and fellow GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu quickly lept to his defence:

While having been DQ'd from the WSOP event, there is no word yet as to whether Lin is banned from GGPoker, a site he represents. GGPoker's security and ecology policy states that "every decision made at the poker table should be free of any external assistance".

This news comes soon after GGPoker's Olive Branch initiative that welcome back previously banned players who wanted to appeal their banning.
